A history of hair in the Capital Region
Jean Paul Salons began more than five decades ago under the direction of Jean Claude Simille, with the goal of creating a place where high standards, thoughtful service, and a welcoming environment came together naturally. From the start, the focus was never limited to a single service or trend. Jean Paul grew into a full-service destination built on consistency, professionalism, and an understanding that how someone feels during their visit matters just as much as the result they leave with. Over time, that approach established the salon as a trusted and familiar presence within the community.

Today, owner Amanda O’Hearn continues that foundation with a clear focus on structure, training, and personalization. The team operates within defined standards that support both creativity and consistency, ensuring every guest receives service that feels intentional and well executed.
We invest hundreds of thousands of dollars each year into education because we believe great results come from disciplined training—not shortcuts. Every stylist completes a minimum of 18 months of in-house training before working independently on the floor, regardless of prior experience or credentials.
Education doesn’t stop there. Our team continues advanced training throughout their careers, traveling nationally and internationally to stay ahead of evolving techniques, trends, and best practices.
